I have always since about 18 been a member of the gym and actually go! I used to go in 2 or 3 month spurts and found this kept me in half decent shape. I love the feeling that I have been to the gym, but getting there can sometimes be a pain. I just need to finish that design, there is something good on the tele, or much recently and deserved is I want to see my son.
For the last year (ok first 6 months of 2008!) I have managed to go in my lunch, 40mins for a quick cardio and weights was great, and still got home to see Finley. But the discipline dropped and I was getting busier with freelance (which is great) and the gym suffered. I do get the odd game of squash in and can tell my fitness levels have dropped massively.

In the desperate plea to get fit again I decided tonight to go for a run. Aided by what we all love – gadgets! I have been on this site before a while ago; you can map out the run in your area, start from your house and go as far as you like and it will work out the distance and even where the hills are! They now have an iPhone app which uses the GPRS on your iPhone to show you how far, fast or long you have been running or riding for. You can create a free account and it will update your online profile from the run you have just completed.
I did say I was unfit! but never the less I hope and want to continue using this to map my progress and where I go.
There are other gadgets on the market that do this just as well if not better, the other mac based product being Nike+ which I don’t fancy spending £100+ on all the equipment.
If you want to track my progress and kick my arse when I haven’t run for a while you can follow this RSS feed (which is another handy little feature)
